Over 5,000 Chemicals Or Natural Hair Dye?

Did you know that over 5,000 different chemicals are used in hair dye products? Can you believe it? It’s estimated that more than one third of women over 18 use hair dye. This means that they’re exposed to chemicals that are dangerous and cancerous. Research has found that “women who have spent years coloring their hair do indeed run a greater risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph system that claims about half of all its victims.” Could natural hair dye be a good alternative solution? Lets dive in.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop at hair dye. We live in a world where we constantly come into contact with dangerous chemicals. Think about your day-to-day lifestyle: the air, food, water and even household products we use can compromise our health. Now think about your cosmetics, toothpaste or even shampoo. Sure this is part of our reality and we may not have control over everything. But what we do have control over is the products we choose. It’s up to us to read labels and become educated and familiar with the chemicals that lurk their way into our personal care products.

So while your average hair dye is packed with more than 5,000 chemicals, you do have the option of choosing one that isn’t – imagine natural hair dye as an alternative to all the chemicals and toxins. Doesn’t that sound better?

Natural Hair Dye:

We’re not suggesting you stop dying your hair all together. We get it – change is good. But we’re saying try something different, something better: introducing the truly natural Rainbow Research Henna. So what do we mean when we say natural? We mean a hair dye made from 100 percent botanical hair color and conditioner that coats each strand of hair for a beautiful and soft look. We’re talking about color that lasts for up to six weeks and is completely free of additives, chemicals and pesticides. The best part is that you choose your shade: brown, chestnut, mahogany or red.

This is how it works:

It’s easy and chemical-free. This is all you do: pour the contents of the jar into a bowl. Slowly add boiling tea or coffee to the powder. Add one to two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. Mix the solution with a spoon until it achieves the consistency of soup. If the mixture is too thick, add more liquid. If you’re using it for grey hair, use about half the jar without the coffee or tea. Then leave it on for about 60-90 minutes. And when the time is up, rinse thoroughly with hot water and again with cold water.

Think about it and evaluate your options: beautiful and healthy hair with natural hair dye OR a chemical-based formula that exposes you to toxins and dries out your hair. The choice is simple. Comment below to tell us all about your favourite shade.
